Are there instructions to play the game?

On the upper right hand corner of the screen, there is a circle with an "i" .  Click on it for instructions to play the game.  The circle next to that with a video camera gives a back story of the animals situation.

Why is game play so slow on my iPhone 4 or older iPad?

Farm Animals Gone Wild is a game with AWESOME graphics.  These graphics require a lot of memory.  If your memory is almost full or there are memory-eating monster apps active on your phone, then it will slow the play down significantly.  You can help make it somewhat faster.  Besides disabling your location, following all the steps here is this great article: http://gigaom.com/2014/02/14/how-to-make-your-iphone-faster/

How do I use the upgrades like the Flatulent Cow, the Kamikaze Pig, etc.?

If you earn enough coins, or choose to buy enough coins to purchase on of the power ups, you are given the option before gameplay to choose a power up if desired.  Once you do, you will notice that your coins for the purchase amount will be deducted from your total accumulated.  When game play resumes, you will notice that your power up purchase is now an icon in the upper left corner of your screen.  You will begin the game as usual by avoiding obstacles and snatching up your weapons and coins, but once confronted by the farmer, you can choose to try to take him out as usual, or if things are going South, you can click on your power-up icon and they will take care of the farmer for you in their own unusual way!
